Why Human Bridge?
Human Bridge was born from a tension between excitement and unease as artificial intelligence arrived.
From excitement to unease
In 2023, I was finishing a Master's in Finance and Data Science, working at a FinTech serving investment funds. ChatGPT had just been released — the first LLM the wider public had heard of. For someone curious, it was irresistible — I spent my evenings on it, first for my thesis, then to test, understand, measure the potential.
A few months later, browsing Y Combinator startups, I came across projects whose stated goal was to replace — literally — the jobs of the people I had just graduated with. Friends. That's when a strange tension showed up: excitement at the technology's immense potential, and the realization that the people closest to me hadn't yet grasped what was coming.
That gap became the starting point for everything.
A gap that goes far beyond my friends
This gap isn't just my friends. It's everywhere. In companies that haven't yet understood that their competitiveness now depends on their ability to integrate AI. Among employees who feel the ground shifting without knowing how to react. And at the scale of France — a country where employability is a corporate responsibility. That means competitiveness and employability have never been more intertwined.
If French companies don't become more competitive and more productive, the whole structure wavers: jobs, social cohesion, our collective ability to make hard choices. And those hard choices are coming — they're already here.
The company as the lever of cohesion
There is good news in this picture. The company is where we spend the most time, where we're most in touch with reality and with one another. Make companies more competitive and productive, and we collectively create more value. Strengthen cohesion along the way — between teams, between generations, between those who understand AI and those who don't yet — and we make possible the kinds of trade-offs that today seem impossible.
In France, we lean too readily on solutions from above — from a politician, a reform, a plan. But the real strength of a nation lies in every person who decides to act on what's within their reach.
Three conditions to move from awareness to action
Breaking out of the paralysis that often follows this realization requires three conditions to come together.
- 01
Set a clear direction
Know where you're going, and make sure everyone is moving the same way. In a company, that means a clear strategy, deployed all the way down to the individual. When every team member can connect their daily work to a goal that makes sense, impact compounds.
- 02
Make resources actionable
Knowing where you're going isn't enough — you have to be able to start moving. That means resources oriented toward action by default, that prompt reflection and progress, connected to what's actually happening on the ground.
- 03
Keep moving
With a direction and the right resources, what's left is to move forward intelligently, every day. Hold the line. Use the resources. Keep improving.
Human Bridge — because building the missing bridges in our societies has never been more necessary, making companies a lever of national cohesion.
